From Jozi with Love...
If there was ever a prize for the best non active blogger, I would be sure to win hands down. But I do however have a good reason(s). Two months ago I gave up the streets of Paris for the African sun. As if the move wasn't strenuous enough, I decided to not only launch my own jewellery label, but also a 'on the side' vintage label. Overambitious much? oh yes, and did I mention my computer crashing? Although they managed to practically recover all my files (hallelujah!) my whole computer is a mess and it's almost like a scavenger hunt tracking down certain images.
As a result, there is so much I want to share, that I should've shared already, but better late than never I guess? So in the next few weeks I will be digging a bit in the past as well as showcasing the present.

Le Xeme
Remember Mathilde, well on top of being a graphic designer and illustrator, she also does really cool interiors for really cool bars. Here are some pics of a bar called Le Xeme (in the 10th) in Paris which she did.

Colette's Carnaval
Colette is turning 15, and to celebrate this Parisian superstore's birthday a big carnival was held in the Tuilleries this past weekend. For those of you who know Colette, will surely recognize the Colette smell you are engulfed by upon first step into the store. So as we were waiting, on a rather cold Sunday morning, for the doors to open, whiffs of this magical smell kept flowing out the doors, reminding us why we came.
The whole of the inside was a marvel of 120 stands of shoes, clothes, sweets, hats, cupcakes, burgers, jewellery, macaroons and lots of balloons. What was more, each stand was somehow made to be interactive (and to the lady at the Sebago stand, I do apologise, hope you didnt bruise).

weekend things #2
I know it has been forever since my last post. I've actually been writing things, but just not been posting them as I have not had the time to organise the images. Life has been crazy on this side, but I shall soon share all that's been experienced and lived in my absence.
For now let's start off the week with some photo's snapped this weekend.

a horse affair
I'd never before been to the races in Paris, but I knew I had to get a new dress. After a whole saturday of searching I found a great dress, however it was white and there was a little make up smudge on the collar. No worries, I say to myself, I'll just wash it. It didn't occur to me that I could also shrink it. Luckily I had another white, yes I know, dress hanging in my cupboard so I put it on and it was a, phew, lifesaver. Wait, I think I spoke too fast. You see, this dress was lightly wrinkled and I just wanted to iron it and in the process smudged make up onto it, yes I know! However, if one has so many white dresses hanging in your cupboard, be sure to have a colourful/darker coloured dress just in case the first 2 dresses dont work out.
Finally at Longchamps the dress fiasco long forgotten, it was time to sit back and relax and enjoy good food, wine, company and of course horses. I was on camera duty for the day, not that I mind of course, and lets just say I got a tad bit carried away. Here are some snaps of the day, for more you can go look at my flickr.
