Addicted to avocados

When I was little I absolutely detested, as in really really disliked, avocados. I used to describe to my family that the texture was too raw for my liking (duh well avo's are raw) and that it was just not going to happen. Well I'm not sure at what age I converted, but I am now an addict! Avo goes well with , almost, everything. So when I found this tumblr I couldn't help but share it.

Hipster branding

I am moving out of my flat this weekend and still have a million boxes to pack!It really does amaze me how much I have gathered in the space of 3 and a half years, when I originally only arrived with one suitcase.
Just a quick post and then I must get back to the tedious task of throwing out magazines. Anyone who knows me knows that I love magazines and am in some way a bit of a magazine hoarder.
I came across this tumblr the other day where they have 'hipster-ised' the design of well known brands.

Colette's Carnaval

Colette is turning 15, and to celebrate this Parisian superstore's birthday a big carnival was held in the Tuilleries this past weekend. For those of you who know Colette, will surely recognize the Colette smell you are engulfed by upon first step into the store. So as we were waiting, on a rather cold Sunday morning, for the doors to open, whiffs of this magical smell kept flowing out the doors, reminding us why we came.
The whole of the inside was a marvel of 120 stands of shoes, clothes, sweets, hats, cupcakes, burgers, jewellery, macaroons and lots of balloons. What was more, each stand was somehow made to be interactive (and to the lady at the Sebago stand, I do apologise, hope you didnt bruise).

last day in sunny SA

life has been but insane and I can't believe my last post was over a month ago. It's just been  a mix of trying to finish my first proper jewellery collection (will share the photo's soon, i promise) to packing to traveling to arriving in a grey and cold Paris, dealing with my bank (and all the unaccounted for charges) trying to unblock my phone and the worst, dealing with the visa renewal procedure. Luckily all is sorted and I can get back to a somewhat normal life.
However in all this commotion I miss my family terribly (as i always do the first little bit) and the yummy sushi lunch we had just before I left. There's nothing better than getting onto a plane filled with your bestest of comfort food, makes the transition of summer to winter, south to north, Africa to Europe, just that little more bearable.
