if only my work space looked like this...

...then I'd probably be a more organised person and all the posts that are piling up on my desktop would probably get posted. Oh, and don't you just love that yellow lamp?

a new year, a new apartment #2

So in my previous new apartment post, I was all about white, minimalist and clean cut, but I can't help but adore Farrow and Ball's interior colour trend forecast. All these pastel colours with such fantastic combinations. Maybe it wont hurt to have some splashes of colour here and there (in my not yet existent flat).

a new year, a new house

So for those of you who know me and know that I'll be back in Paris in March, when unfortunately I'll have the tedious task of moving, again. On the upside, there is nothing that gives me greater joy than staring at beautiful interiors. So I thought whilst I may not be in this new apartment yet, I am going to be blogging once a week until then on ideas and images that inspire me.
Apart from interior magazines, one of my favourite sites is The Selby, who recently shot the most gorgeous short film with Lucy Chadwick for Zara. I have literally been obsessing about her apartment since the day I saw it, but not too sure if I could pull off that all white, clean edged, minimalist look.

There are however a few things in her apartment I would absolutely just love, including her glasses.

1. Modern oil on canvas panting, VandM 2. Whistling tea kettle, Lecreuset 3. Coffee pot, Heals
4. Linda Farrow Luxe spectacles, Net-a-porter 5. Wine carafe, Wine gift centre 6. Peonies, Teleflora
7. Table light, Conranshop 8. Wegner's Peacock Chair-Walnut, Designersrevolt 9. Modern sofa, Housebeautiful

It's what I'm into, totally!

There is this brilliant new local website called itswhatiminto and let me tell you it's so the types of things I'm into. It's made up of a bunch of local contributors living in Cape Town, Jozi and Durban and they bring the latest of South African culture, fashion and interiors. They've just recently launched the site but I'm already obsessed!

wednesday things #2

here are a few things I like at the moment:

Closet visit - Home and studio visits is the latest trend to have hit the blogisphere. I think it works so well in part because of curiosity.

Therese Sennerholts - I've been lliking these graphic prints for a while no, simple and easy yet effective

things organised neatly - i had to stop myself from not reblogging the whole entire tumblr

Bryan Adams - we all know him for the summer of '69 but he's photography is even better

Cocoon by Meg&Dia - I think it was more the cover which drew my attention at first, but I actually really like the album too

white walls and windows all around

On the top floor of the Fondation Henri Cartier Bresson is a big loft like space with windows which continue forever. Since my first visit there I've been obsessed with the big, open, light filled loft idea, which we also all know in Paris is near to impossible, but a girl can dream hey!
This loft styled by Nanna Lagerman for Elle Interiƶr and could not be more spot on of my dream loft, minimalist bright and warm. So whilst I dream, there's no harm admiring what could one day be ;)

rainy day blues

After the most perfect few days of sun and bliss, the heavens would open upon us and the cold set in. So whilst sitting in the office, freezing away I can only but dream of being back home all cozy in my bed or on my couch with a good book thawing myself at a nice warm fire, thats if only i had a fireplace in my flat. Oh, a girl can dream!
