Kinfolk

I think I am in love with Kinfolk.

"Kinfolk is a growing community of artists with a shared interest in small gatherings. We recognize that there is something about a table shared by friends, not just a wedding or once-a-year holiday extravaganza, that anchors our relationships and energizes us. We have come together to create Kinfolk as our collaborative way of advocating the natural approach to entertaining that we love. Every element of Kinfolk—the features, photography, and general aesthetics—are consistent with the way we feel entertaining should be: simple, uncomplicated, and less contrived. Kinfolk is the marriage of our appreciation for art and design and our love for spending time with family and friends."

Here's some pics from their first dinner held in Portland, and all I can say is that I wish that I was there!

Looks like so much fun!

weekend things

Yuppeeee, it's finally the weekend! here are just a few things I've collected over the past week.
Happy weekend!

I am really enjoying the simplicity in line mixed with prints in this collection by twentysevennames

doesn't this make you think of Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman, start from the outside in, and do try keep you snail in hand.

I love these illustrations by Paul Thurlby via [simplesong]

wouldn't a little cabin in the woods with glass walls and ceiling be a great way to escape whilst listening to old records via designvagabond

I just absoluetly love this look, especially the way she makes it look so effortless, yet from her head to her toes she's so well kept...oh ze french! via The Sartorialist

Free people, hippy chic

My friend Miss PetiteE often sends me articles and links of things she knows that I will enjoy as much as she did. She sent me the link of freepeople a few weeks ago, and I have ever since been obsessed! The jewellery, shoes, bags and clothes are so ME that I literally spend hours just gazing and trying to decide what to buy. I have however never bought anything from them as I have learn't while having things delivered to my flat in Paris are free, it can get quite pricy having them sent to South Africa where I will still be staying for the next few weeks. So I will just enjoy the pretty pictures for now.

Doesn't matter the hat...

...a veil is always welcome! I am absolutely loving this idea of adding a little veil to a beret, bonet or peak cap,  you could probably add a veil to any hat that goes!

I think I might just do a DIY on this one!

a new year, a new apartment #2

So in my previous new apartment post, I was all about white, minimalist and clean cut, but I can't help but adore Farrow and Ball's interior colour trend forecast. All these pastel colours with such fantastic combinations. Maybe it wont hurt to have some splashes of colour here and there (in my not yet existent flat).
