Orange pork stir fry, yummy!

Yesterday while browsing through some blogs, I found an absolutely delicious looking recipe on the Lucky Pony blog. I'm also going through a massive masterchef obsession at the moment, so any recipe that catches my eye needs to be test and tried. This orange pork stir fry was delicious and super easy to make. She also suggests the next time she makes it to add ginger (also going through a ginger craze at the moment) so I did. Yummy and easy dinner!

Bon appetit!

Quentin Jones you are my hero

Quentin Jones, you are my hero and when I grow up I want to be just like you. I was meant to blog about this amazeeeng illustrator, animator and film maker ages ago and I just completely forgot and left all these images to gain electronic dust on my desktop. Quentin Jones, who is based in London, comes up with the most fascinating collages that one can just spend hours being entertained by, and her films are so rad! Downtown in Chinatown for the year of the Dragon

This past weekend the Chinese Community of Johannesburg came together to celebrate their new year, the year of the Dragon. There was a wonderful festival happening down town in Commsioner stree, in old China town.
I went with a few friends to take part in the festivities, and all though our wish latern didn’t take off to the sky  and my ears were still buzzing from crackers and fireworks this morning, we had a fantastic time! If you missed it this year, be sure to go next year and remember to book at one of the few restaurants to guarantee some delicious Chinese treats!

a new year, a new house

So for those of you who know me and know that I'll be back in Paris in March, when unfortunately I'll have the tedious task of moving, again. On the upside, there is nothing that gives me greater joy than staring at beautiful interiors. So I thought whilst I may not be in this new apartment yet, I am going to be blogging once a week until then on ideas and images that inspire me.
Apart from interior magazines, one of my favourite sites is The Selby, who recently shot the most gorgeous short film with Lucy Chadwick for Zara. I have literally been obsessing about her apartment since the day I saw it, but not too sure if I could pull off that all white, clean edged, minimalist look.

There are however a few things in her apartment I would absolutely just love, including her glasses.

1. Modern oil on canvas panting, VandM 2. Whistling tea kettle, Lecreuset 3. Coffee pot, Heals
4. Linda Farrow Luxe spectacles, Net-a-porter 5. Wine carafe, Wine gift centre 6. Peonies, Teleflora
7. Table light, Conranshop 8. Wegner's Peacock Chair-Walnut, Designersrevolt 9. Modern sofa, Housebeautiful

Jazz age // Alberta Ferretti // Pre-fall 2012

The return of the Jazz Age is upon us. Having seen only a few collections of pre fall 2012 there is one clear trend, that of the 1920's.
I absolutely loved this collection by Alberta Ferretti and thought I'd really try and create a 1920's ambience with these collages.

Giambattista Valli // Pre-Fall 2012

Simply elegant is what comes to mind upon first glance at this pre-fall collection. Filled with rich colours and splashes, if not pure solid, red the looks are hypnotically beautiful. The print on print, fur dresses, satin wedged heels and polka dotted stocking are what fashion dreams are made of.

A short film by Matthew Frost following the day in the life of a girl, Ashley Smith,  who has that je ne sais quoi, enough to make the other girls Jalouse.
