Downtown in Chinatown for the year of the Dragon

This past weekend the Chinese Community of Johannesburg came together to celebrate their new year, the year of the Dragon. There was a wonderful festival happening down town in Commsioner stree, in old China town.
I went with a few friends to take part in the festivities, and all though our wish latern didn’t take off to the sky  and my ears were still buzzing from crackers and fireworks this morning, we had a fantastic time! If you missed it this year, be sure to go next year and remember to book at one of the few restaurants to guarantee some delicious Chinese treats!

  1. I always thought that marvelous things are products of scientific curiosity, of expression of your will to create something stylish, and of course, your arms growing from proper place. But how they arrived to that Chinese Flying Lantern?
I can say only that the weight of lantern is equal to the difference of mass between hot and cold air in his volume..
